Dr. Gordon Bird was our hero. He was our pediatrician for years. He guided us through the loss of our 6 month o old son Ben (SYDS). Ben died at day care and we struggled. Years later our son Luke was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and again he guided us through. He came right to our house to talk to us about what the treatment would be. Chemo took care of Luke. Gord Bird took care of us. From start to finish he was there. During this time, he lost Marnie. We have such love and gratitude for his support and guidance. Just a giant of a man. A life well lived, for sure. Sincere condolences to the family. Thanks so much for sharing this great man with our community, sincerely, Gerry and Barb Graveline.

To the family of Dr. Bird, I would like to offer my condolences on the passing of a wonderful man and doctor. He was paediatrician for our two children who are now 46 and 53....and probably thousands of others over the years. A great man who will be missed by those who new him.

Dr Bird was my doctor, as well as most kids my age, and then became my children’s doctor until we moved away in the early 90s. He was a remarkable man and a dedicated doctor. The world has lost a wonderful man. If Pam Bird sees this please tell her I said “Hi”. We were real good friends when she lived in Brockville.

Dr. Bird was my pediatrician when I was a child, as soon as I found out I was pregnant I called his office to see if he would look after my kids. He was such a wonderful man, I would see him out shopping 30 years after he was my sons doctor and he still knew me.
I am so sorry for your loss, i loved him very much, all Doctors should have taken lessons from him. R.I.P Dr. Bird
