In loving memory of Dale Ronald Murphy

A loving husband and father, he was born on November 16, 1958 in Montreal, Quebec. Dale suddenly passed away on April 14, 2020 at home with his wife and children at his side. He was predeceased by his father Ron Murphy. Survived by his wife Roberta (nee Ready) and children Kaitlin and Declan. Also survived by his mother Joyce Brunton; his brother Dan and sister-in law Joan of BC; and by many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A passionate motorcyclist, Dale owned and operated his business FastTrax Honda in Brockville before his 25 year career at 3M Brockille. He build the family home and spent countless hours in his shop, definitely his happy place. Dale was a thoughtful, kind, enthusiastic, protective and strong husband and father who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Due to the times we are living in, a celebration of life will be planned when it is safe to do so.

Dale was a very dedicated family man and loved animals. Donations will be gladly accepted at the Leeds and Grenville OSPCA on Dale's behalf.

Please take a moment to send a condolence to the family or share a special thought of Dale on the Memory Wall above. Thank you.

Dale has been a personal friend of mine for over 25 years. He was always encouraging to me and could be counted on for strong supportive advise both in my personal and professional life. I relied on him for years as my sole mechanic in fact he was the only person I ever allowed to ride my bikes.
I met Dale just after I finished high School and we would hang around the old Fat Albert's restaurant in the Sear's Plaza talking about bikes and girls (not always in that order). Our friendship continued throughout the years and our conversations matured with us.

I know through these conversations that his strongest feelings of pride and love were for his family.
Both of his children were the world to him. I remember when he fitted a sidecar to the old XS Yamaha so he could introduce both kids to his favorite pastime at a very early age.
Roberta was the love of his life and I never heard him utter a word that would contradict that. I even remember him displaying his love of Roberta and motorcycles together in his shop. He called them his pin-up pictures. (always tasteful)

Dale Murphy will continue to be loved and missed.

Sleep well my friend

We are so saddened by the news of Dale’s passing. The last time I was able to see Dale was when we visited Grandma J with our new baby, Cameron 20 years ago. Despite the infrequency of our contacts, my cousin still left such an impression on me with his kindness and love. Our visit seemed to just pick up from the time we last saw each other. He valued us because we are family. We seem far away, but know that we are here for you all and you have been in our prayers daily. When Mom passed earlier this year, I leaned on my faith for comfort and I hope that you can do the same. All our love, Stuart, Paula, Cameron, Nolan, and Erin Judge

My tribute to Dale Murphy..
My name is Patricia. I am a 58 year old Transgender Female.
I am on Disability and have the misfortune of having 4 Meth addicts
living under us who continually poison our home for over a year now
with their chain smoking, drugs and chemical sprays belching into our home.
They even threatened my life twice.
Toronto Police have not stopped them. Toronto Fire does not have the right
PID Sensors in their Gas Detectors and also not the right training for VOC
contamination detection in this matter. They have refused to upgrade their gear.
Our Landlord has applied for their eviction; a painfully slow legal process,
further slowed by the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Our home has been turned into and remains, a gas chamber of horrors.

In addition to our Air Purifiers (which were never designed for industrial
levels of VOC contamination), I sought out knowledge for Respitory Protection.
When I contacted 3M Canada, I was served by Dale Murphy many times.

It did not matter to Dale that I may well be one of 3M's smallest customers.
He told me all customers and their needs are important to 3M and to him.
He proved that over and over again, patiently explaining the best products
that would fit our budget and offer the best protection to our lungs and life.
He gave me information on Disposable Respirators, Half and Full Face Respirators,
Cartridges, etc. Because of my disability, I sometimes needed him to repeat some
information. He did so with patience, kindness and professionalism every single time.
Clearly, 3M chooses their employees very well.
I never once left a conversation with an unanswered question.
Not only could Dale answer my questions, he could even anticipate my next questions too.

In a world that has been very brutal towards me, there are some people who have been kind.
Dale Murphy is one of those people for me; for us.
Though our supplies are critically low now, my roommate Jenny (a health care worker)
and I are still alive because of Dale's help towards us.

To Dale's family, collegues and workmates, we share your sorrow and grieve with you
in this time of great sadness. I have to fight my tears to type this.
So many times, a person may help another and never know how much it meant to the recipient of that kindness or service.
Please know that Jenny and I are two lives Dale helped to save.
We will never forget him and will be forever grateful to Dale and 3M
for every breath we take, literally.
To his family, if Dale was sometimes a bit late coming home from work,
it may well have been because he stayed late taking my urgent calls
and never rushed me off the phone. We are so grateful to you all.
Please know this; that with all of our humility,
we (Jenny and I) deeply thank Dale, his family, and 3M Canada.
May the almighty God receive Dale with open arms and protect,
comfort and richly bless you all.
Thank you so very much Dale.
