Obituary for Virginia Joyce Kloosterman (Fournell)

With broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Virginia Kloosterman at the Brockville General on Monday, February 28, 2022 at the age of 81. Survived by her devoted husband John Kloosterman and cherished mother of Glenda Francis-Brooks (Chris Lefave), Christopher Wing and Shelly Wing. Loving grandmother to Jason Francis, Ryan Lafave, Rachel and her brother Ryan. Loving sister to Keith Fournell and his friend Janet. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Donald and Euphemia Fournell (Bowman) as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Virginia always thrived to see the common good within others and enjoyed volunteering her musical skills within her community. This included the annual memorial service at the Sandy Hill Cemetery and Gosford Church. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School at the United Church in North Augusta and Manhard, her volunteering monthly for many years at the Rosebridge Manor entertaining the residents who greatly enjoyed listening to her music was very important to her. She also ran a free Outreach Program distributing clothing where needed. Her main interests were her home in the country, her time spent with family members especially enjoying home cooked meals during special holidays and cuddling with her beloved cats. Virginia’s great love for her church and the Lord helped her through many health issues and hard times in her life. Her passing has left an empty spot in our hearts and she will be thought of often with love and appreciation for all she did for her family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to the Irvine Memorial Chapel, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 2-4 pm for a celebration of Virginia’s life which will include tributes at 3 pm. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society Lanark County or Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
