With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Sharon Marie Holland on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the Brockville General Hospital. Sharon was 91 years young. She was the loving and supportive mother to James (Beth), Terry (Carol), Michael (Adrianne) and Patricia (Henry). She loved her family and texted with many family members everyday. She will be missed by her 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren as well as her many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her dear parents Margaret and James Lucy, her sister Beverley (Andre), Roy, brothers John (Betty) Lye and Robert (Eve) Lucy and grandson Ryan Holland.
Sharon had a great gift of compassion in her daily routine. She loved to share stories and laugh with the residents at Rosedale and knew each one by name. She had an incredible memory right to the end. As well, she enjoyed music and sang in many theatre productions as well as on the CBC radio when she was young. In her older years, her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed going for drives in her car. Sharon was very proud to have received a letter from the Cooperators Insurance company congratulating her on her record of driving accident free for 70 years. She loved, was loved and will be missed by her family and all who knew her. Her smile would lighten up a room so easily.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church, 66 Church St., Brockville on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 10:30 am with interment to follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Belleville commencing at 2 pm. Arrangements are entrusted to the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St. E., Brockville. Memorial donations are directed to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society two of her favorite charities.
