Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Fairview Manor in Almonte, Ontario, Canada at the age of 90. Cherished husband of Ernestine Pirc (née Niedermeier) for 66 years. Fondly remembered and sadly missed by his two daughters Karen Hunter (Joe Anao) and Angela McCann (dedicated son in law Tom McCann). Proud and beloved Opa of Ethan, Hilary and Madeline. Son of Johann and Hedwig Pirc (née Sladek). Predeceased by his siblings Hans W. Pirc and Erika Schenina (née Jessner).

A special thank you to the caring staff of the Garden walk--Fairview Manor for the past 6 years. In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Rudolf Pirc to the Almonte General Hospital Foundation/Fairview Manor would be appreciated. We will remember always the love and generosity that Rudi brought to our lives.

Even though in his last few years Dad struggled to form words to communicate his thoughts; one could feel his heart space. Dad had a big one! He carried a soft spot for the underdog in life and never shied away to lend a helping hand. Life’s truths and purity of spirit reside in ones heart. Thank you Dad for showing all of us (your family and friends) how to love unconditionally, at length and deeply. Bless your peaceful, freeing journey. Love transcends all boundaries.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time. I enjoyed having the opportunity to visit with Rudi for several years during his time at Fairview Manor. Those visits tapered off when conversation in English became difficult, but when I would see him in the hallway, I could at least greet him with a "guten tag." From our conversations I will remember Rudi as a caring man, both for his family and for humanity. May you rest in eternal peace, Rudi.
