When I think of Rolly it is always that great smile and big personality of his that comes to mind. A cousin by marriage to Lillian, he was also an usher at Rick’s and my wedding oh so long ago. And did I mention that he was responsible for Rick landing an after school job at Canadian Tire or that he fixed a dis-located finger for Rick by asking to have a look at it and then quickly yanking it into place? You should have seen the look on Rick’s face...and the big grin on Rolly’s! We thought Rolly was an “old guy” at our wedding... he was thirty-five! A lot of good memories ... a lovely soul. Having met Rolly only a handful of times, the obvious pride in his family, great zest for the outdoors, and liberal sprinkling of humour gave him a positive outlook that was especially obvious and a joy to experience. Whether playing cards, sitting together chatting, or reflecting on the fortunes and foibles of his beloved Maple Leafs, Rolly will always be fondly remembered by our family for that great personality and ready smile so evident in his memorial photo. The pain of departure is always the worst to begin with but we sincerely hope the entire Hellyer family will quickly draw much strength and comfort from an undoubted treasure trove of fond memories and special moments shared with Rolly through the years. Even so, our most sincere condolences and deepest sympathies at the passing of such a beautiful soul...
With much loving kindness,
Lynne, Don, Eric & Luke Witzel

Dear Guy and Danny and families, We are so saddened to hear of Uncle Roll's passing. I will always remember my trips to Canadian Tire to visit with him, all of our times together as kids at the cottage on Graham Lake. He was a very special man and I will miss him. My deepest sympathies to you both and your families.
