April 7, 1939 - March 26, 2022
It is with great sadness and love that the family of Rita McCaughan Nogiec announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Brockville General Hospital.
Proud and loving mother of Derek (Cathy), Ronald (Karen), Rhoda (Frank), and Sandra (Raymond). Grandmother to her cherished grandchildren Daniel, Stephanie, Diana, Mason, Ryan, Jordan, Hannah and Abigail. Loving Great Grandmother to Hailey, Lucas, and Bryn.
Survived by her siblings Cyril, Shirley, Arthur, Joanne, Joyce, and Donna.
Predeceased by her former husband Gerald Nogiec, parents Joseph and Gertrude McCaughan, siblings Lorraine, Harry, Robert, Patricia, Victor, Rena, Elaine, Linda, and Sharon.
Rita was devoted to her family, always strong and generous with a positive outlook on life. We will always remember Granny for her joyful energy, love of playing cards, cribbage games, bingo nights and afternoons watching her TV soap operas. She enjoyed watching baseball, often wearing one of her many baseball caps to cheer on the Blue Jays. Granny enjoyed taking road trips to visit her grandchildren, listening to country music with the volume turned up, and caring for her dog Leroy.
The family will have a private service at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, Maitland. A special thank you to the team at Brockville General Hospital. As a celebration of Rita’s life, donations in her honour to BGH’s Palliative Care unit will be gratefully acknowledged.
