Dr. Tripp was our first family doctor. He was wise and caring and had a sense of humour that was healing. As a mother of three at that time, I remember and still quote his most famous line, "It's a rash of unknown origin." Nothing to worry about. He doctored with common sense addressing the demanding needs of our family. We give thanks to the Lord for the care he (and Ethel and sometimes Pixie in the office) provided.

Pieter was our next door neighbor when we first came to Brockville to start the Webster House Bed and Breakfast on James Street. Although he had a full patient inventory he took us in hand and cared for us until he retired. I always remember and am forever thankful in particular for one bit of advice that he gave me. I was developing a morning cough and went to see him. His diagnosis was developing bronchitis. I asked what could be done to control it. His response, "You are smoking aren't you?" I was, and from that day forward I have never used a tobacco product. I still have a sealed package, dated 15 Dec 1988, containing my pipes, tobacco and lighter. Than you again Pieter and may you rest in peace
