I am very saddened to hear of Peter's passing and I would like to express my condolences to Joy and the family on their loss. I was privileged to work with Peter for many years both as an employee and as a graduate student. I benefited greatly from his innovative ideas, his broad knowledge both in science and in literature, his kindness and his concern. He was one of a kind
