Obituary

Passed away on Friday, December 4 th , 2020, at Kingston General Hospital surrounded by family, following a brief but fierce battle with cancer, at the age of 76.

A lifelong resident of Brockville, Patricia graduated from BCI and then Brockville General Hospital School

with the Shout Sister Choir, and as an avid curling and figure skating fan. She was an exceptional
seamstress who created many figure skating dresses over the years.

A wonderful and loving wife, mother, and “Gramma”, Patricia will be forever missed by her devoted
husband of 53 years, Peter Young; children Heather (John) Chartrand, Greg Young, and Joanne (Dean)
Connolly; and grandchildren Alaine Chartrand, Andrew Chartrand, Maddy Young, Emma Connolly, and
Devin Connolly. Also lovingly remembered by Patricia’s brothers Robert (Jane) Larocque, Dennis
Larocque; and by sister-in-law Sue Larocque. Predeceased by her parents Doris (Greenwood) Dixon and
Alexander Larocque, brother and sister-in-law Ken and Peggy Larocque, sister and brother-in-law
Doreen and Laurence Sicard, brother Paul Larocque, and sister-in-law Linda Larocque.

To both the Laroque and Young families I want to send most sincere thoughts of sympathy at this difficult time. I worked with Pat on the Maternity ward as a student nurse, and then again as a young grad. She was always kind to all and fun to work with, but she was also unwavering in her expectations of excellent care for all mothers and babies in our care. She has always been a vital member of our alumnae and will be missed greatly. I was shocked and saddened to learn of her death and send caring thoughts to all of you. Sincerely, Marg Alexander

To the Young & Larocque families
I just wanted to pass on my sincere condolences on the passing of Pat. She was an amazing sister-in-law who has helped me tremendously especially when Paul passed. I could not say enough good things about how great she & Peter were in helping me & my girls deal with his passing. There are so very happy family memories we can fall back on which we will cherish for sure. I cannot say how much I truly felt blessed to be part of this amazing family. My thoughts, prayers & love are with you all. Until we meet again Pat R I P. Sending hugs & kisses to the family.
