Obituary for Mary Nuala McFeely (McLoughlin)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mary “Nuala” Mc Feely passed away, surrounded by her husband and children, on Monday, December 14, 2020, at the Brockville General Hospital. She was born on December 24, 1945 in Co. Sligo, Ireland to Mary (Rooney) and John McLoughlin. She was the second youngest of six children (Padraigh, Nancy, Bridget, Bosco and Jacinta). On January 13, 1973 she married her husband, Dr. Neil Hugh Mc Feely, and together they had two children (Jean Mary and Darragh John).
Nuala attended nursing school in Liverpool, England from the age of 16 and practiced nursing in both England and Ireland until 1974. After the birth of her children, Nuala stepped away from her professional career and became an exceptional stay at home mother, nurturing and caring for her children in ways that won’t easily be forgotten.
Nuala could often be found with a cup of coffee and a book in hand, was inclined to spoil her grandchildren beyond measure, and enjoyed time spent with family. She will be missed terribly.
Nuala is survived by her husband (Neil), her daughter Jean (Rob), her son Darragh (Deanna), her grandchildren (Holden, Declan, Coral and Keeva), her brothers (Padraigh and Bosco), and her sisters (Nancy, Bridget and Jacinta).
Below is a much-loved poem of her husbands, that reminds him of his beloved wife.
When You Are Old
By W.B. Yeats
When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;
And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.
A celebration of life will take place at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, Maitland, at a later date.
