Obituary for Margaret Croft

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CROFT, Margaret (née Foster)
August 28, 1924 - May 19, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce that Margaret Camilla Croft (nee Foster) passed away peacefully in her sleep early on Tuesday May 19, 2020. Marg leaves behind her loving children, Carol (Robert Nixon), Susan (Lorne Crapper), James (Lesley) and Catherine (Jim Johnson) and cherished grandchildren, Gail (Richard Law), Cherie (Paul Marjoram), Leanne, Todd (Chelsea), Amy Lyn (Mike Sargent), Craig and Jeanette. Marg will be missed by her many great-children and great-great-grandson.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband (John) Bruce Croft, who passed away in 2000.
Marg was born in Brockville where she met and married Bruce in 1943, 5 weeks before he deployed to Europe for the Second World War. After the war, Bruce worked at the Recorder and Times for a couple of years, where Carol was born. They moved to Toronto where they raised their children, returning to Brockville in retirement. Marg was known for her beautiful singing Soprano voice, a big smile, and a contagious laugh. Marg hosted family and friends countless times and Bruce always did the dishes.
A special thank you to the staff and caregivers at Maple View Lodge where Marg happily resided more than 10 years.
Private arrangements are entrusted with the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville.
