Obituary for Lorraine Hanson

Lorraine Ann (Boutilier) Hanson, September 18, 1940 - August 15, 2022
Beloved mother of: Paula, Fred, Cheryl, Pam.
On the morning of Monday, August 15, 2022, Lorraine passed away at age 81, just shy of her 82nd birthday, in her sleep at Harrisburg Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.
Born and raised in North Weymouth, MA. Lorraine went on to co-own the Howard Johnson’s restaurant in Brockville, ON with husband John. She was a wonderful mother, always there for her children.
Lorraine was a dedicated member of Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church where she enjoyed volunteering. The past fifteen years loving fur baby Abby. She devoted herself to spending time with family and friends, whether for special occasions, or genuine quality time. As a result of her generous spirit and positive personality, she was loved by many.
Lorraine was predeceased by husband John, her parents and siblings. Known as “Grannie”, she is survived by her beloved fur baby Abby and four children: Paula & Edwin Markell, Frederick & Chong Hee Hanson, Cheryl & Paul Kirkland, and Pamela Beshore; twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
The celebration of life will be held in her honor Monday, August 29, 2022 at 10:30 am at the Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church in Dillsburg, PA. Interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland, on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 3:30 pm.
The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring love and affection shown by all during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family is graciously asking for donations to Chestnut Grove UMC in Lorraine’s name.
We invite anyone who knew her to join us at either celebration to remember and honor Lorraine “Grannie”.
