Obituary for Jim Powell
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Powell, on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the age of 91. Known by all for his outgoing nature and generous heart. Beloved husband of Joan, and dear father of daughter Debbie and son Dan (Denia). A dearly loved grandfather to Russ, Randy (Mel), Laura, Chris (Cleo), Kim and Kylle.
Jim will also be missed by his brother Jack (Kathryn). He will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and by his extended family and friends. Predeceased by his siblings Keitha Thomas and Barb MacMillan and son-in-law Jerry Vandenberg.
Jim was a long time employee of Dupont Canada in Maitland. He enjoyed spending time with his family. His second love was gardening and growing his beautiful orchids which, he was proud to share with his family and friends. He could often be seen down on the third concession enjoying his two Arabian horses as well.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland on Monday, February 6, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the chapel
at 1:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to stay for a reception afterward. As expression of sympathy, donations to the Brockville General Hospital Palliative Care will be greatly appreciated by the family.
