Obituary for Kirby Matthew White

After a long and courageous battle with Huntington’s Disease, Kirby passed away peacefully on June 3rd, 2022, at his home, Garden Terrace, in Kanata. He will be lovingly missed by his daughter, Jessica Tuttle, and his two grandsons, Caleb, and Lucas. He will be fondly remembered by his brothers Kelly, Kim (Teresa), and Kevin (Mary Jane), and many nieces and nephews.
Kirby was predeceased by his loving parents, Janet (nee Freeman), and Cliff White.
Although Kirby had many struggles throughout his life, people appreciated his kind, gentle manner and calm disposition. Like his father, Kirby had a great love of nature. He had fond memories of camping and fishing with his daughter, Jesse. He enjoyed many hours along the St Lawrence and Ottawa river. He loved his family and enjoyed sharing family stories with others.
During his life, Kirby received support through multiple community services including The Shepherds of Good Hope, The Salvation Army, The Ottawa Mission, Centre 454, and St. Luke’s Table. The family would like to thank Karen Boyd, from the Canadian Mental Health Services, for her care, compassion, and continued support over many years for Kirby. The family would also like to recognize and thank Kirby’s extended family at Garden Terrace for the love, support, dignity, and respect they gave him. He was very happy there.
In honour of Kirby, please donate to any of the services mentioned above.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Send condolences or share a special thought of Kirby on the Memory Wall above.
