Obituary for Judith (Judie) Wolfenden

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and sister on Friday, January 29th 2021, at Kingston General Hospital in Kingston Ontario. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert Henry, on June 27th 2010 and her parents, Philip and Dorothy Curran. Judie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Philip (Marianne) Wolfenden, Laura (Marc) Ford and Dawn (Scott Clucas) Wolfenden, loving grandmother of Logyn, Derek and Kathleen Ford, Kayleigh and Dawson Kennedy and Dylan (Mikaela) Clucas. Also survived by her sisters, Janet Downs of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Kathleen Coles of Vancouver, British Columbia and numerous nieces, nephews, close family and friends.

Judie was a dedicated lifelong educator who touched the lives of everyone she met and continued to educate long past her retirement, giving her time to many volunteer organizations and committees. Judie always took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. Nothing brought her greater pleasure than being surrounded by her family. She was a great friend and cherished many lifelong friendships. Judie was a devoted member of the Catholic community that provided her great joy singing in the choir as music played an important role in her life. Judie had a special gift for quilting, sewing, knitting and took great joy in gifting her works to many. She also had a great passion for writing, family ancestry, and travel.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Royal Brock Retirement Residence and the staff at both Brockville General Hospital and Kingston General Hospital for their devotion and kindness given.

In Judie’s words, “Bye for now!”.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel at 4 James St East in Brockville on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 11:00 am-1:45 pm .
