Dear Micheline & Family. Despite the fact that it's been decades since we have spoken to or seen you and Joe I can tell you that when I heard the news of Joe's sudden passing from a mutual friend, an explosion of memories instantly came to mind. Being in Joe's company was always an enjoyable experience whether it be at law school, the golf course (Cataraqui in Kingston and Chaudiere in Aylmer/Hull), the Albion Hotel and other pubs, travelling together on the U of O golf team, dining at Aunt Lucy's, spending time with Joe and his boyhood chum Don Schlicter, and seeing you both at our first apartment in Toronto and at your first home in Kingston and remembering both of you assuming the role of Tarzan and Jane as newleyweds. For a couple who once thought you might never have any children you have certainly generated an impressive progeny. I counted 6 children and 14 grandchildren in the obituary but I was never good in math. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. God love you all. Dick & Angie Anka

I’m extremely saddened by this news. I’ll always remember Joe fondly — for his sharp sense of humour, his common-sense wisdom, and his kindness. His large and loving family is the most fitting testament to him, and I send my thoughts and deepest condolences to the entire McKeown family.
