Obituary for Jeffery Cole Spicer

~~~~~~~~~~
With profound sadness the family of Jeffery Cole Spicer announce his passing at the Brockville General Hospital on March 20, 2022 at the age of 68. He was surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Jeff was born on Aug 8, 1953, in Brockville, son of the late Donald and Isabel Spicer. He attended TISS and following his graduation he assumed the family business which he ran for over 40 years.
He married his best friend and high school sweetheart, Karen Lynn Boyd on August 10, 1974, in Brockville and they were blessed with three wonderful children.
Jeff was very supportive and involved in his kids and grandkids lives; from attending sporting events, family vacations and was always willing to lend a hand to help anyone that needed it.
He enjoyed spending days on the St. Lawrence River and always had an open dock policy to family and friends for boat rides, swimming and snacks in the gazebo. He always had a quiet presence and a big smile when welcoming people to their home. He loved gardening, fishing and general puttering around the house. Jeff spent his retirement completing the restoration of his grandfather’s 1930 Chevy delivery sedan.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Karen, his three children: Shelley and her husband Cory Raymond, Allison Spicer, and Cole and his wife Katy Spicer. Pappy will be missed by his beloved grandchildren: Emma and Carter Raymond, Aubree, Grady and Jane Spicer. He was a devoted brother to Betty Dawn and her husband Ray Place and Julie Spicer. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends that became family. He is predeceased by his brother James Spicer and sister Sheila Spracklin.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St., E, Brockville on Friday, March 25th from 3:00pm – 7:00pm. A service and celebration of Jeff’s life will be held on Saturday, March 26th in the chapel at 11:00am. A private burial will follow.
“A family is a risky venture, because the greater the love, the greater the loss. That’s the tradeoff. But I’ll take it all.”
