Entered into rest peacefully at her residence on Thursday, March 10,2022 in her 87th year. Irene was a lifelong dedicated educator with the Separate Board having taught at St. Francis, St. Mary’s and was the first principal at Britannia Heights (now J. L. Jordan) before retiring. Beloved wife of the late Patrick Leeder and dear mother of Laird (Julie), and Mark Leeder. Loving grandmother to Mitchell, Dylan, Taylor and JP. Dear sister of Marty (Jean) Laird and Jean Barr (Tom deceased). Fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by her brothers James and Mike Laird (Iris deceased) and by sisters Sheila Leeder (Clement deceased), Joan Leeder (Jim deceased), Margaret Robinson, Mary and Rita Laird.
Family and friends will be received at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James St., E., Brockville on Sunday, March 13t, 2022 from 4-7 pm. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be held at St. John Bosco Church, 95 Windsor Drive, Brockville on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. In memoriums to the St. John Bosco Parish will be gratefully acknowledged.
