Obituary for Hugh Grightmire

Entered into rest on Friday, May 19th 2023 at the Brockville General Hospital. Hugh was born in Greensville Ontario in 1922. He enjoyed a full life with his wife Hilda (deceased 2004) celebrating his 101st birthday in Florida this past winter.
Hugh was a talented businessman and highlights of his career include his role as Chairman and CEO of Standard Industries Ltd. Hugh was also a founding partner of the group that started Northern Cables Inc. in Brockville Ontario. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors in the early years and played a key role in its growth.
Hugh enjoyed the outdoors. Sailing, golfing, and upland hunting were some of his favourite pastimes.
He will be missed by his family and his many friends.
Loving father to David (Donna), Kathy Corbett (Bob), Leslie Grightmire and Tracey Griesbach (Peter). Cherished grandfather to Scott Corbett, Ryan Grightmire and Benjamin Griesbach and seven great grandchildren. Predeceased by his granddaughter Dr. Shannon Corbett.
A celebration of Hugh's life will be held at the Irvine Memorial Chapel, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland on Monday, June 5th from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
