Obituary for Grace Baker

Grace Elinore Baker
June 13, 1929 – April 21, 2023
Entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital with family by her side, Grace passed peacefully April 21, 2023. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank Charles Baker. Grace is the loving mother of Marilyn Perrin (Don), Donna Novick (Dean), Patti Turner (Larry); Grandma to Chrissy Smith (Nathan), Nana to Katie Turner (Will); and Great Grandma to Alexis and Alyssa Smith. She will be deeply and forever missed by her girls. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Grace had a great joy for life. She was kind, considerate person who truly loved her friends. She thoroughly enjoyed music and singing. She loved to laugh and tell stories of the good old days with her siblings. Most of all she loved being with family. She was a talented artist and loved to sketch, paint with oils, and watercolour. We are blessed to have these treasures. Grace and Frank enjoyed the lake, the outdoors and spent many years at the cottage they built. It was peacefully and she was truly relaxed there. They also enjoyed travelling to USA for family gathering every year at Tully Lake.
Grace was predeceased by her parents Arthur Sr. and Marion Pearce. Also, predeceased by her siblings, dear brothers Arthur Jr., Douglas, and Charles; and sisters Jean, Ethel, Marjorie and Mary.
Thank you to the nurses and Doctors at the Brockville General Hospital who cared for Mom for 7 months after surgery during Covid in 2021-22 and to the Nurses, PSWs and Doctors at the St Lawrence Lodge these past 11 months.
A very special thank you to Doctor Spohn, and to Nurse Mollie for their kindness, and compassion to Mom during her last days and hours. We could not have asked for better care.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Lanark Leeds and Grenville or to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care would be gratefully acknowledged.
A private family interment was held following cremation at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland.
