On Saturday April 18, 2020, Dr. Gordon S. Bird passed away at the Brockville General Hospital.
Born in Kincardine, Ontario August 4, 1929, he was the son of Samuel and Kathryn Bird (Kendall). Beloved husband of Ruby (Rideout) and the late Marnie Bird (Phillips). Brother of Maisie Ross (Bob) and Gloria Bates (Hugh). Predeceased by sister Vera Kathryn Billings (Roger) and brothers Ivan (Elizabeth) and William (Doris). Father of Jeffrey (Carolyn), David (Stephanie), and Michael (Karla). Much loved grandpa to his beautiful granddaughters Abbey, Marnie, Katie, Ashley, and Kendall Bird.
Proud member of Queen's Meds '54 where he received his medical degree later obtaining his M.Sc. (Med) degree and fellowship in Paediatrics. He practiced in Brockville from July 1959 until his retirement in 1998.
A celebration of Dr. Bird's life will follow on a date to be announced after the lifting of the Covid-19 ban.
