Obituary for Gerrit DeJong

Peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 28, 2021 at the Carveth Care Centre, Gananoque, at the age of 94 years. Beloved husband of the late Agnes (DeJager) DeJong and cherished loving father of Jill (Ken), Theresa (Joe) and Carla. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Erin (Justin), Melissa, Kenneth (Jacqueline), Amanda (Sara-Jean), Richard (Anna) and Luke; by his great grandchildren Jack, Noah, Riker and Jace; by his brothers Arie and Teun and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Willem and Teuntje DeJong and by his siblings William, Aagji, Zwaantji, Art and Hans from Holland. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Carveth Care Centre for their wonderful care, love and support during Gerrit's time there.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 12-2 pm.
A private funeral will be held followed by interment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.
