Obituary for Peggie Purchase

Elma Margaret Purchase, known to her loved ones as Peggie, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, in Brockville General Hospital at the age of 70. Peggie was born on September 2, 1952, in Montreal, Quebec. Predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Olga Jean Cookman of Hemmingford, Quebec.
Peggie was a loving wife to George Purchase, a caring and loving stepmother to Jennifer Biemond and her husband Rudi. She was also a very proud Nana to Emily, Leah, and Jaelyn. Peggie is survived by her brother Cliff Cookman, sister-in-law Lois Cookman, and nieces Wendy and Mary Beth.
Peggie was a funny, smart, kind, and thoughtful person. Those who knew her well know that she was happiest when spending time with her flamingo sisters as well as the crafty ladies, giggling, and sharing in their creative adventures, which included quilting and beading. She also loved caring for her cats and her stunning flower gardens.
A celebration of Peggie's life will be held at the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St. E, Brockville, Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 2-4pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Leeds & Grenville Interval House (Brockville) or Quilts of Valour Canada.
