Obituary for Elizabeth (Betty) Nantel
Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Nantel, in her 102nd year, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 25, 2022.
She was born on July 9, 1920 at Gloucester Carleton County Hospital, one of seven children to Samuel and Caroline Ballantyne.
Betty attended Eastview Public School in Ottawa, Ontario before moving to Brockville, Ontario where she attended Brockville Collegiate Institute.
On May 26, 1960 in Gatineau, Quebec, she married Jean-Louis Nantel. The family moved to Ontario in 1966, where she did retail work before joining the staff of Ballantyne Pharmacy in Athens, Ontario where she worked until she retired at the age of 65.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing from hemming pants to making wedding dresses. Betty had a love for horses, enjoyed boating, camping, reading, and their cottage on Graham Lake.
Loving mother to Edward Nantel and his wife Kathryn of Delta and Caroline Mattice of Brockville. Loving grandmother of Tina and Travis Mattice, Rebecca and Sydney Nantel; and great grandmother to Michelle Curtis.
