Obituary for Edna Mae Spicer (Phelps)

Passed away peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital, Garden Street Site on Monday, April 22, 2019. Edna Mae (Phelps) Spicer, at the age of 94 years. Beloved wife of the late Lorne Spicer and dear mother of Linda Suddaby, Earl Spicer (Bev) and Heather Wattam (Freeman). Dear grandmother of Ken Spicer (Janice), Tracey Massey, Jeff Spicer (Lisa), Jamie Suddaby (Katherine), Matthew Suddaby (Melissa), Kevin Spicer (Tara), Kyley Curson (James), Lorne and Quinn Wattam, Teresa Altenpohl, and Stephen Pittman (Cindy). Proud great grandmother to Katie, Ben, and Grady Spicer; Colin Massey; Evan and Alissa Suddaby; Kaylee, Avery and Emma Spicer; Danika, Raelynn and Bennett Suddaby; Michaela Wall (Jeff Gaw), Jorja, Zander and Malaki Pittman; and Sepp Altenpohl plus one on the way! Mother-in-law of Linda Spicer. Sister of Melvin Phelps and Helen Coyea. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Ralph, grandson Joshua Spicer, son-in-law Douglas Suddaby and by her parents Hazel and Cecil Phelps.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Friday, April 26th from 1:30-3:30 pm and 6:30-8.30 pm. A ceremony celebrating Edna's life will be held in the chapel on Saturday, April 27th at 11 am. Interment will follow at Manhard's Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Manhard United Church, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care will be gratefully acknowledged.
