Obituary for Charmaine Murray
Service Information Update:
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of our wife, mom, and nanny.
Peacefully entered into rest with family by her side at Brockville General Hospital, on
Wednesday, July 20, 2022, Edith Charmaine Anne Murray (nee Barton) of Lyn aged 78
years. Beloved wife of Gary Murray for 53 years. Cherished mother of Denise
Murray and her husband Vic Ambrosino, and Michael Murray (Paula). Loving nanny of
Zada and step granddaughters Shania (Dylan), and Marie. Proud and adoring GG to
Amelia. Predeceased by her parents Zada and Harold Barton and her brother Ronald.
Charmaine grew up in Merrickville and the village always held a special place in her
heart. She spent her life serving her community in various ways and was actively
involved in Girl Guiding of Canada and the First Presbyterian Church. She was the
secretary and afterwards the president of Presbyterian Women.
Charmaine enjoyed knitting, cake decorating, crafting, reading, scrapbooking,
and traveling with her husband Gary.
Charmaine was a supportive and caring person who was always willing to lend a hand.
She touched the lives of many and will be remembered for her kind and beautiful heart.
Charmaine loved spending time with family and friends, and she will be greatly missed.
According to Charmaine’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service
will be held in First Presbyterian Church on September 10, 2022 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation to
the Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation will
be gratefully acknowledged.
