Doris Armstrong (Beckstead) passed away peacefully at Garden Villa in Chesterville, Ontario on Friday, March 25, 2022 at the age of 87. She was predeceased by her parents Grant and Lillian Beckstead, and her brother D’Arcy Beckstead. Her family and wide circle of friends will lovingly remember Doris. Beloved Mother of Cindy White, Cheryl Armstrong and Malcolm Armstrong; dear mother-in-law of Bruce White, Richard LePage and Nathalie Coutou; and grandmother to Connor White, Luke LePage, Matthew LePage, Kaëlen Armstrong, Anna-Khesic Harper and Wastehya Harper. She will be missed by her sisters Marion Fournier and Thelma Beckstead; and fondly remembered by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Doris was born and raised in Chesterville, Ontario. After living in Montreal, Staten Island NY, Ottawa and Toronto, she made Brockville her home in 1979, where she remained until August 2021. In September 2021, she moved back to her hometown of Chesterville and into Garden Villa Retirement Residence. Doris was a very active member of her church first at Trinity Anglican Church and then St. John's Anglican Church in Lyn where she also enjoyed making pies with the ACW. In addition to volunteering at her church and the Salvation Army during the holidays, she loved spending time with family, playing bridge, baking and gardening. While in Brockville, she had a 30-year career at McDonalds, where she organized birthday parties and fundraised for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respect at Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St. East, Brockville on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 5-8 pm. A celebration of Doris’ life will be held at Saint Lawrence Anglican Church, 80 Pine Street, Brockville, on April 2, 2022 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
