Obituary for Donna Lorraine Beatty (Buchanan)
Donna Lorraine (Buchanan) Beatty entered into rest peacefully at Brockville General Hospital, Garden Street site on June 30. Born in Bigger, Saskatchewan in 1926, Donna moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Manitoba and married Stewart Beatty. In 1952 they headed east and Brockville became home. It is here they raised their family, built a business, and became invested in the Brockville community.
Donna’s life focus was her family and she was the heart center. Her unconditional love and numerous quiet acts of care will be treasured. She was a loyal friend to many and a generous contributor of her time and resources in the community.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Stewart in 2011. She is survived by her daughter Donna-Mae (John Siderius), son David (Anne). She is Nan to five grandchildren: Hilary, Heather, Kevin, Carolyn, Ian and Great Nan to five: Hunter, Madison, Brooklyn, Trevor and Elyse.
A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at St. Lawrence Anglican Church on Thursday August 1, 2019 at 1 PM with a reception in the Parish Hall to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully received by St. Lawrence Anglican Church, or the Brockville General Hospital Palliative Care Programme.
