Obituary for Donald Phillip Perrin

~~~~~~~~
SERVICE UPDATE!
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Phillip Perrin at Providence Manor of Kingston on May 24, 2022.
Donnie was born in Plum Hollow on December 9, 1943 to Glynn and Ida Perrin. He grew up with a love of water and for all things motor: boats, cars, four-wheelers, snowmobiles, even obtaining his pilot's license from the Brockville Flying Club. He spent many years on Charleston Lake at the family cottage on Goose Island (aka Perrin Island). He loved the annual Charleston Lake Regatta, which he usually won every year.
Don grew up in the automobile business, eventually co-owning GF Perrins Sales and Service, his family dealership that operated in Brockville for more than 50 years. He was active in the community, as the Past Master of the Sussex Lodge in Brockville, and President of the Brockville & District Shine Club.
His later years were spent at his home on the St. Lawrence River where he enjoyed playing the guitar or banjo and entertaining. His love for boating took him on many adventures, including travelling from Brockville to New York City in a 16 ft Sidewinder, and sailing the world with good friends. Donnie made friends and helped people out wherever he went.
Donnie is survived by his wife Lee Perrin (Graham), children: Jesse Perrin (Amy) and Melinda Hodgkinson (Dan) along with his granddaughters: Ashton, Addie, Isla and Yara. Also survived by his brother Murray Jackson, sisters Myrna Brown and Diane Sayeau and first wife Diana Williamson. He was a favourite Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and by his brother Elmo Jackson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 1:00 pm -4:00 pm at the Brockville Legion, to raise toast and relive the memories and good times that we share. Private arrangements are entrusted with the Irvine Funeral Home & Chapel, 4 James St E, Brockville.
In Memoriams to the Shriners Hospital for Children or the Alzheimer’s Society of Alzheimer Society of Lanark Leeds Grenville will be gratefully acknowledged by his family.
Send a message of condolence or share a special thought of Donald on the Memory Wall above.
