While working for the Alzheimer Society on Garden Street, it was always great seeing Don walk through the door for a visit. We would talk golf, curling, and sports in general. He always wore a fun smile! Thinking of your family at this time.

My condolences to the family. I had the pleasure to meet Don when he started working for CLNF in 1994. Don was a great boss and leader. He had an open door policy, encouraging employee feedback, debates and concerns. Don always said " If you come talk to me about a problem, you should also present some solutions. Don't expect me to solve your problem for you"
Don had this thing about adjusting his wrist watch. I found this amusing. I tried hard to figure out what triggered him to do this but never figured it out because he did this all the time. I had much respect for Don. I will never forget his last comment to me. "Keep pushing that line Vince " I have good memories of Don. He did alot for the agency. Rest in peace Don Nielsen.

Don was a friend and colleague. He was committed to enriching the lives of people who were diagnosed as having a developmental challenge. He was respected in the field. I am proud to have called him my friend. He had a great sense of humour. Don, Ted Shuh, and I played some golf together. We always had a lot of laughs. I remember Don fondly. He will be missed. I offer my condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.
