It is with great sadness that the children of Donald (Don) Bannon announce his passing on May 1, 2020.
He passed peacefully at Brockville General Hospital at the age of 88.

Beloved husband of the late Dolores (Hovey) Bannon. Loving father to Barbara Bannon (Paul Adshead), Richard Bannon (Yvonne), grandfather to Eric Bannon (Tawnya Danis) and Stephanie Bannon (Thomas Spirk) and great-grandfather to Quinn Bannon.

He will be sadly missed by his children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, sister-in-law Constance Coulter and by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Due to current COVID 19 restrictions, there will not be a funeral visitation or service at this time. A memorial service to celebrate his life will take place at a later date.

We would like to thank the Brockville General Hospital team for the care and compassion that they provided to Don in his final days.

Please take a moment to send a message of condolence to the family or share a special thought of Don on the Memory Wall above. Thank you.

Don was my boss in the Toronto Freight Claims Department of CP Rail from when he moved there from Montreal around 1983 until I transferred to Calgary in 1986. He used to like sending me to get him liverwurst sandwiches for lunch from the restaurant downstairs in our office building at 480 University Avenue. I had not seen or heard about him in many years but remember the interactions that I had with him back then. My condolences to Don's extended family.

To the Bannon family, please accept my deepest condolences. Mr. Bannon was my manager for most of my 39 years with the CPR Freight Claims Department from 1968 in Montreal until he retired in Toronto. Rest in peace Mr. Bannon.

Rest in peace Mr. Bannon. Although we have never met, i would like to thank you for your part in raising your daughter, Barbara. A most sweet, thoughtful and kind person with a generous heart.

Don always said how blessed he was to have such good friends in Brockville. Kevin and I count ourselves very lucky to have had Don as a friend. In recent years, I started saving the crossword puzzles from the Recorder & Times for Don. Then a few times a year (not often enough I admit), we would go see him in Lyn for a visit, deliver the puzzles (sometimes chocolates), chat and show him pictures of our recent travels. Rest in peace, dear Don, memories of our friendship will last forever.
Hugs, Danielle Laurier and Kevin Lambert
