~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Denis Henry Reavie passed away peacefully at the Lakeside Long Term Care Centre (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) on Friday, April 24, 2020 at the age of 86 years. Husband of 56 years to Sylvia Muriel Reavie (née Corkin, deceased 2014) and father to Drew (Elizabeth), Keir (Lisa), Bret (Mitsuki) and Euan (Lisa). Loving grandfather to Kana Reavie. Predeceased by parents Thomas and Edith Reavie of Northern Ireland, sisters Eileen McKeown (David) and Mary Porter (Richard) and brothers William, Robert (Kathleen), John (Maisie), Ivan, George (Eileen) and Kenneth. Survived by sister Margaret Rodgers (James) of Northern Ireland, brother Roy (Helen) of Perth, Ontario, Canada and many members of the Reavie and Corkin families in the UK and North America.
Denis and Sylvia met in the 1950s in Portadown, Northern Ireland and immigrated to Canada in 1956. They spent many years living in Brockville where Denis was employed at DuPont Maitland Works and later at Chromatographic Specialties. Denis was adept at rugby and field sports as a youth, loved fishing, and had an obsession with bird watching and watching golf. In the 1970s, he was involved with the Brockville Minor Hockey Association and later spent many years contributing to the missions of the Brockville Lions Club.
In the future, we anticipate a family tribute and celebration in honour of Denis, to take place in Brockville.
As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to Bird Ecology and Conservation Ontario (https://www.beco-birds.org/) or the Brockville Lions Club Music Festival.
Please take a moment to send a message of condolence or share a special thought of Denis on the Memory Wall above. Thank you.
