Obituary

~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Beryl McKellar, age 89, peacefully at Brockville General Hospital on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 with her family by her side.
Loving mother to Deborah (nee McKellar) Willard and her husband Gord. Cherished and dedicated Grandma to her three beloved grandsons Jacob, Isaac and Calum. She will also be sadly missed by many family members; sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and the good friends in the U.K., U.S.A. and Canada.
She was predeceased by her husband and soul-mate Hugh McKellar in 2010.
A private ceremony will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland on Saturday, August 15 at 11 am. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged.
Send condolences on the Memory Wall above. Thank you.
Hi Deb,
I'm very sorry to hear about your mom. She was always happy to chat whenever I saw her. When I was delivering the paper, she'd often try to engage me in sports conversation...especially baseball, of which she could've been a commentator! Obviously over my head, I'd try and change the subject to talk about Laddie.
She was a genuinely welcoming and caring person and was an integral part of my Somerset childhood memories.
My deepest condolences to the McKellar family. The childhood memories I have with Beryl will always be in my heart. I'd like to thank both Beryl and Hugh for being so kind to me all these years giving me gifts since I was a little, and always treating me like family. I miss them both. Hope my grandparents and them are having a blast up there, talking about the old country and singing songs like they used to.
Debra and family,
We were sorry to see that Beryl had died. We had seen her at Hardy Park a few times since our return to Brockville and then visited her when she was at the Royal Brock. She was a sweet, warm and kind lady whose face lit up when she spoke of her family. She reminded me how lucky my husband and I were to have each other. I think of that often. So sorry for your loss. Debra...sorry to hear about your mom passing. She was the last of the original Somerset dwellers. I have vivid memories of both your mom and dad watching us Moore boys play road hockey in the circle from their command centre ( garage open with 2 lawn chairs ). For some reason, tennis balls always ended up on their front lawn from slap shots gone haywire, but they never got mad ! They had fun watching us. Take care Debra. I'm sure you miss her dearly...she was such a nice lady and a great neighbour !
