Obituary for Barbara Hope Murphy (Douglas)
In her 88th year, Barbara Hope Murphy went to be with the Lord at the Winchester Hospital on Thursday, February 13th, after a short, but courageous battle with pneumonia. She is predeceased by her parents Harvey and Daisy Douglas (nee Kingston); husbands, Douglas Robertson, Daniel Blair and Raymond Murphy and by her siblings Betty and Arthur Douglas. Lovingly remembered by her children Bernard Blair (stepson), Hamilton Blair (predeceased stepson), Danielle Varey, Karen Addison (Ray) and (predeceased son) Stephen Blair (Janet). Sadly missed by her grandchildren Katherine Blair (Heath), Craig Blair (Diane), Jordan Blair (Julisa), Jesse Hilpert, Braden Bernard (Patricia) and Krista Bernard. Fondly remembered by her great-grandchildren Kristina and Dylan (Huggins) and Gavin and Grace (Bernard). Missed by her loving daughter-in-law Lillian Blair (Gord) and many friends at the Senior Apartment in Metcalfe and area.
Barbara loved music. She played and sang in various bands and blessed many people with her talent. She loved to play cards and knit in her earlier days, and had fun in the Common Room at her apartment building playing Bingo and taking part in other activities. She also enjoyed many visits to her hometown of Spencerville.
A Celebration of Barbara's Life will take place at a later date. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.
