Bert Lemon passed away peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital, Charles Street Site on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at the age of 83 years. Bert was a proud educator and retired Principal of many Brockville and area schools. Away from school, his passion was his beloved cottage at Charleston Lake. Bert was predeceased by his wife Eileen (McGrath) Lemon and is the cherished father of Wilfred "Bill" Lemon (Jackie) and Dawn Field (Andrew). He will be sadly missed by his 4 grandchildren Katie, Hannah, Jordan and Ben. Also survived by his sisters Sharon Dixie and Kathy Van Diemin; by his brother Gerry Lemon and by several nieces and nephews.

Special thank you to Dr. Ashe and the Palliative Care team for all their care and support shown towards our dad.

Due to the current Covid limitations, a private family graveside service will be held at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care will be gratefully acknowledged.

Many fond memories of Bert at Toniata Public School while my children attended there. Bert always made me laugh. I would check at his house, just down the street from my mom whenever I passed by. Wonderful man who was cherished and will be missed.

Bunnie and I were very saddened to learn of Bert's passing. Bert and Eileen were wonderful friends and welcoming cottage neighbours of ours. Bert was always there with some sage advice and a helping hand when needed. We'll miss the twinkle in his eye and his mischievous grin as he launched into his trove of wonderful and sometimes very funny anecdotes from his many years in Education and from his time at his beloved cottage on Charleston Lake. He will be missed immensely.
Bill and Dawn, our condolences and prayers go out to you and your families.

We were so saddened to read about Bert’s passing. We have so many cherished memories of our summers at the lake with Bert and Eileen. We could not have asked for more wonderful neighbours and friends. What happy memories of late afternoon drinks, kid theatre productions, and chats around the campfire. We always welcomed the roar of Bert’s truck making its way down the road to the lake, with Slick often with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time of loss.

Saddened to read this news. Bert was a Principal at Toniata when my children attended and I was Parent-teacher committee chair.. I recall when computers were a new thing to school., Bert was not content to have just one in each classroom, he wanted a computer lab in the library. That summer, our family helped repurpose desks with him, and we scrounged for old donated computers. It was no surprise to me that, come September, Toniata was one of the first schools to have a complete computer lab. I admired his dedication and knew the students were always first on his mind. A life well lived. R.I.P. Brenda, Ron, Matt and Sam.
