Obituary for Elizabeth Jean Villeneuve (Cook)

Passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, December 13, 2018. Elizabeth Jean (Cook) Villeneuve, at the age of 97 years. Beloved wife of the late Omer Villeneuve. Cherished mother of Robert Villeneuve (Linda), Mary Peterson (Mac), and Richard Villeneuve (Roelie). Will be missed by her grandchildren, Brenda Salmon (Rick), Allan (Bernie), Jennifer Moulton (Mike), Joel Peterson (Holly), Paul (Sophie), and Andrew (Laura); her great-grandchildren, Shaylie, Gabrielle, Matt, Brandon, Dylan, Tabitha, Ben, Emily, Liam, and baby V to be; and her great-great-grandchildren, Gunner, Piper, Chandler, and Kolttan. Also survived by her sisters Joan Findlay (Don), Barbara Phifer (John) and Patricia McShane (Walter); her sisters-in-law Betty Cook and Lila Young (Don); by her brothers-in-law Rene (Rosie) and Stuart Couperus (Yvonne) and by her daughter-in-law Alice Villeneuve. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary (Allen) and Harry Cook; her sisters Eunice French (Oliver) and Margaret Cuthbertson (Alex); by her brothers Alan and Harry and by a sister-in-law Lucille Couperus.

Jean was a dedicated member of the Catholic Women's League for 73 years and a talented seamstress creating bridal dresses to hemming pants. Every family member has one of her prized quilts. She enjoyed crafts and loved family time together making unforgettable memories. When she retired from Grenville Pharmacy, she enjoyed traveling on many bus trips.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 11 am - 1 pm followed by a celebration of Jean's life in the chapel.
